Katie Sosebee - Associate Director

Katie Sosebee, Associate Director of the Marching Knights, is a native of Thomaston, Georgia. She is a 1996 honor-graduate of Upson-Lee High School, where she served as the Drum Major and flute section leader for the Marching Knights. She also participates in the Knightlife Singers and Dance Band.
Ms. Sosebee received her Associate of Arts degree from Gordon College in 1998, graduating Cum Laude. She was an active member of the Gordon College Chorus, Chamber Singers, and Phi Theta Kappa, an international honor society. While at Gordon, she played flute and oboe with the Iris City Community Band in Griffin, Georgia.
Ms. Sosebee received her Bachelor of Music in Education Degree from the State University of West Georgia in 2002. While at West Georgia, she was a member of the Marching Braves, the Symphonic Band, UWG Flute Choir, and Sigma Alpha Iota, a national music society.
Upon completing her degree, Ms. Sosebee worked as an Associate Director at Upson-Lee Middle School from 2002-2004. In 2004 she was named as Director of bands at ULMS and Associate Director of Bands at Upson-Lee High School.
Ms. Sosebee is an active musician within the community. She plays flute, trumpet, French horn, and tuba with the Thomaston Brass. Her professional memberships include the Georgia Music Educators Association and the National Association for Music Education.
